Isle of Grain among suggested estuary airport locations

New runways at Heathrow and Gatwick are among the options that have been short-listed by the Airports Commission for expanding UK airport capacity.

One option which has not made the shortlist but is still being considered is an estuary airport in the Thames.

The Isle of Grain, a proposed location for the 'island' airport, is currently home to around 2,000 people, and homes would be lost if the proposal became a reality.
