Ian Watkins ex-lover's fury at police failure to arrest him

A former lover of paedophile Ian Watkins has spoken to the BBC about how she reported the rock singer to police on numerous occasions, over the course of several years, before he was finally brought to justice.

Joanne Mjedzelics said she continued the meet up with Watkins as she was "the only one who was reporting him" and was furious that it had taken officers so long to stop him.

Watkins, 36, lead singer of the band Lostprophets, from Pontypridd, pleaded guilty to 13 child sex offences at Cardiff Crown Court in November.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission currently has three separate independent investigations into south Wales, South Yorkshire and Bedfordshire Police - examining the handling of information held on Watkins prior to his arrest.
