Turing pardon 'feels uncomfortable'

Computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing has been given a posthumous royal pardon.

It overturns his 1952 conviction for homosexuality for which he was punished by being chemically castrated.

Glyn Hughes, a sculptor who made Alan Turing's memorial, explained that while he was glad that Turing had been pardoned he did not feel entirely comfortable about it.

"What about all the other thousands of gay men who were prosecuted?" he asked.
