Show reality of army injured, Weston urges
Falklands War veteran Simon Weston has called for a more realistic portrayal of life for injured service personnel.
The charity campaigner, who suffered serious burns in the 1982 conflict, says the media gives a false image of positivity around injury - when in reality many people struggle to cope.
Mr Weston told BBC Radio 5 live's Dominic Laurie: "We talk about these great, incredible feats... but that does cloud over the hundreds and thousands of guys and girls who are very badly hurt."
A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said they were "committed to providing the best possible care" for injured service personnel and that media and charity events "recognise their courage."
