Coronation Street's William Roache 'attacked girl in toilet'

Coronation Street star William Roache indecently assaulted a 14-year-old girl in the men's toilet at the Granada TV studios and then sent her a signed photo, a court has heard.

Prosecutor Anne Whyte QC described the letter as a "sort of grooming as we nowadays know it".

Mr Roache, 81, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, denies two counts of raping a 15-year-old girl in East Lancashire in 1967, along with five counts of indecent assault involving four girls.
