William Roache TV interview shocked witness, court hears

Coronation Street actor William Roache told New Zealand's TV One News programme that people should be forgiven rather than condemned for their mistakes.

The interview was shown to a jury at Preston Crown Court where Roache has pleaded not guilty two separate charges of rape and indecent assault between 1965 and 1971.

The court heard that one of his alleged victims came forward to police after seeing the interview.
