UK floods: Chertsey 'sausage' angers some residents

An aquadam being installed to protect homes in Chertsey, Surrey, has angered some residents.

The sausage-shaped plastic tube will be filled with water to create a flood barrier between the rising Thames and 200 homes on one side of Bridge Road.

However, it leaves a number of properties on the other side of the street trapped between the barrier and the river. Their owners claim they are being "sacrificed".

The Environment Agency told the BBC those homes are already likely to flood, and sandbags are being provided.

Jenny Hill reports.
