Dutch mega-pumps damage flood river

Huge pumps brought from the Netherlands to help drain the Somerset Levels have been switched off after parts of the River Parrett bank started to collapse.

The Environment Agency turned off the pumps which were installed last week after fears were raised that the volume of water being pumped damaged the riverbanks which support critical sluice gates.

Scott Ellis reports from the Somerset Levels.
