Somerset floods: Is dredging a silver bullet?

Plans to prevent a repeat of this winter's floods on the Somerset Levels will be presented to the government later.

A draft report has been drawn up by Somerset County Council and the Environment Agency detailing measures which would cost £100m to implement.

The proposals include dredging rivers and creating a tidal barrier near the town of Bridgwater.
