Sol Campbell on 'sick' homophobic and racist abuse

Former England international Sol Campbell has said the abuse he got from fans in his playing days was "sick".

The Arsenal and Tottenham defender was on the receiving end of racist chants, as well as abuse over claims he was gay.

He told the Today programme's Evan Davis how scared he was as thousands of supporters made monkey noises at him.

Campbell said the gay rumours started simply because he did not bring girlfriends along to matches.
