Badger culls 'were shown to be a failure' - Lord Krebs

The government has said it will not expand badger culling to other areas this year to reduce TB in cattle.

The original plan was to announce up to 10 new cull areas in south-west England each year.

Chair of the House of Lords science and technology select committee Lord Krebs welcomed the news, saying the pilot culls were "a failure".
