Police on Syria campaign: 'We're looking to protect people'

A new initiative launched by British counter-terrorism police chiefs aims to protect men looking to travel to Syria to fight from being "preyed on by terrorist groups", the senior national coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing has said.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball told the Today programme that police hoped their appeal to Muslim women would enable them to understand how to "best influence" young men not to travel.

Reports suggest up to 20 men from Britain have died in the conflict.
