Ed Miliband: David Cameron 'wrong' over Pfizer takeover bid

The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has said that there needs to be a thorough assessment of whether a takeover of the British drug company, AstraZeneca, by its American rival, Pfizer, is in the country's national interest.

Speaking to Andrew Marr on BBC One, Mr Miliband criticised David Cameron's stance, and promised a stronger public interest test on takeovers.

No 10 has denied Labour claims it is acting as a "cheerleader" for the deal, saying it is fighting for British jobs and British science.
