Police Federation conference 'opportunity' for change

The annual Police Federation conference in Bournemouth is a "golden opportunity" to change, according to the body's chairman.

It comes after an independent review said the federation, which represents police officers, had a culture of bullying and was pointlessly sitting on millions of pounds.

Steve Williams, who will leave his position as chairman after the conference, told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "We need to embrace the changes."

"I genuinely believe that if we don't do this, the powers that be will in fact invoke changes for the organisation."
