School custard pie prank ends badly for Jacob Dowdle

An 18-year-old has been expelled from school after an end of term prank involving him putting a custard pie in the face of one of his teachers was posted on social media.

The head teacher of the school, Altrincham Grammar for Boys, in Cheshire, said Jacob Dowdle was expelled because his actions were "assault".

He said the Year 13 student ran away from school and refused to remove the video from Facebook, which caused further distress and humiliation to the teacher.

The teenager told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive he was sorry and understood it was the wrong thing to do.
