Forced marriage: 'I was a prisoner in a home'

A new law making forced marriage a criminal offence in England and Wales, punishable by up to seven years in prison, comes into effect today.

An estimated 8,000 young women are coerced into marriages each year. The new law follows decades of campaigning to criminalise the practice.
