Schools struggle to fund free meals

The Department for Education has told the BBC 99% of primary schools are on track to deliver free meals in September.

The change, for children in reception, year one and year two, will save parents about £400 a year per child.

But the change has caused difficulties for many schools, which say they have had to find funding for the extra service themselves.

Danny Savage reports.
