Russian ambassador to UK condemns 'illegal' sanctions

Discussions are taking place in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, about access to the rebel-controlled site where the Malaysia Airlines plane came down last week.

Australia and the Netherlands want an international force to seal the area.

The Russian Ambassador to the UK, Alexander Yakovenko, said he hoped the investigation into the crash would help to ease diplomatic tensions.

Again he denied any Russian involvement in the downing of the plane, and warned against tightening the sanctions that had been imposed on Moscow.
