Ed Balls: Despite growth 'things are getting harder'
Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls says the UK's economy has returned to its pre-crisis size "much more slowly" than it should have done.
Statistics show the economy is 0.2% ahead of where it was in the first quarter of 2008, its pre-crisis peak.
George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, called it "a major milestone" but Mr Balls said people were not experiencing the benefits of growth.
The Labour MP warned against complacency saying we should not consider the economy "fixed".
