Domestic abuse law: 'Ex controlled phone and email'

As the Home Office considers a new crime of domestic abuse, BBC Breakfast has heard from one victim who described how her former partner used to control how she dressed, ate and even her telephone and online accounts.

Anna Larke's ex - TV presenter Justin Lee Collins - was sentenced to 140 community service for harassment and causing fear of violence but, she says, it would have been an easier process if the law changed to include emotional abuse.

Domestic violence solicitor Rachel Horman said the legislation was needed as police were currently telling her clients: "'Come back when he hits you.'"
