Rotherham child abuse: Shaun Wright should resign says Ed Balls

South Yorkshire's police commissioner Shaun Wright should resign over Rotherham Council's failure to deal with child sexual abuse from 1997-2013, Labour says.

Shadow chancellor Ed Balls cited an independent investigation into the scandal, which found at least 1,400 children in the town were sexually exploited.

Shaun Wright was the Labour councillor in charge of children's services at Rotherham Council from 2005 to 2010.
