UK institution are 'elite cosy club' - Alan Milburn

The UK's important public institutions look like an "elite cosy club" according to new analysis by the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission.

The commission's chairman Alan Milburn told the BBC that people from a "pretty narrow range of backgrounds" dominated key public positions, and employers needed to recruit from a wider range of schools and universities.
