New video shows British hostage John Cantlie

A new video has appeared showing a British hostage, John Cantlie, who is believed to be being held by militants from Islamic State (IS).

Unlike previous videos, the film does not show anyone being beheaded, and does not show any members of the militant group.

John Cantlie speaks from behind a desk, and says Islamic State has been "misrepresented by the Western media".

IS has previously released videos of the killing of three Western hostages, and has threatened the life of British aid worker Alan Henning.
