How to deal with MPs behaving badly?

The expenses scandal and cash for questions are just two of the many reasons why voters might want to get rid of their elected MPs, but in the past they have had little power to do so.

A bill going through parliament could soon change that and any MP that is found guilty of serious wrongdoing could be forced to stand down and face a by-election.

But campaigners say the new bill does not go far enough, as it will still be difficult to bring politicians to account and the law will only apply to MPs, not other elected officials.
