Father's fight to bring autistic son home

Josh Wills, aged 14, has a learning disability and severe autism. He has spent his last two birthdays in an assessment and treatment hospital in Birmingham, almost 300 miles away from his family in Cornwall. Yet Josh was only supposed to be in the unit for a few months.

Josh's anxiety from being so far away from home causes his self-harming behaviour to get worse. It is now so severe that it is threatening his life.

Josh's parents, Sarah and Phill, have launched a petition to get Josh the care he needs closer to home. The petition has so far generated over 173,000 signatures.

Phill Wills spoke to the BBC's Alison Holt.
