DisabledGo: 'More access details needed on shops and restaurants'
Businesses should make their accessibility clear to help disabled people plan their trips in advance, a campaigner has said.
An audit of more than 30,000 shops and restaurants by DisabledGo found that a fifth of shops had no wheelchair access and three quarters of restaurants did not cater for those with visual impairments.
Dr Gregory Burke from DisabledGo also called for an inspectorate with power to implement existing legislation under the Disability Discrimination Act.
