Scout Association faces increase in historical sex abuse claims
More than 50 people have instructed solicitors over historical abuse claims against the Scout Association. The cases, some of which date back to the 1960s, have all emerged since the Jimmy Savile scandal in 2012.
The association and individual scoutmasters have also paid £897,000 in damages, lawyers for the claimants say.
The Scout Association disputes both figures and says the safety of young people is its "number one priority".
