New domestic abuse law on controlling behaviour

The law on domestic violence in England and Wales is being changed to include "coercive and controlling behaviour".

Prosecutors will now have to take into account emotional and psychological abuse, which could include refusing access to money and controlling many aspects of everyday life, like friendships and hobbies.
