UK travel chaos follows heavy snowfall and engineering work

Heavy snow and high winds have caused severe travel disruption in parts of the UK on Saturday night.

Motorists reported being stranded in their cars for more than five hours in Yorkshire, and many roads were blocked in Staffordshire and Cheshire.

Air passengers experienced delays and diversions, with some airports forced to close.

For travellers to and from London's King's Cross station, travel problems were made worse by the closure of the station after overrunning engineering work.

Phil Bodmer reports.
