Hillsborough campaigner Trevor Hicks becomes CBE

Trevor Hicks, who lost two of his daughters in the Hillsborough disaster, has become a CBE for his services to other families bereaved by the tragedy.

Sarah and Victoria Hicks were among the 96 people who were killed on 15 April 1989.

Their father has tirelessly campaigned for justice since their deaths and offered support to other victims.

Speaking to the BBC's Judith Moritz Mr Hicks said he was "very pleased" to make it on to the New Year's Honours List.

He added: "At the end of the day I'm a bloke who's done a job of work to the best of his ability."
