Ched Evans petition: FA and PFA 'must take stand,' says blogger

A woman who started a petition against convicted rapist Ched Evans's proposed move to Oldham Athletic says the player "doesn't know what rape is".

The petition by the blogger, who uses the pseudonym Jean Hatchet, has gained more than 45,000 supporters since Sunday.

She said: "It's time that the Football Association [and] the Professional Footballers' Association realised that accepting players back into a high-profile role that have committed such an atrocious crime is wrong. They've got to take a stand on this."

Oldham are still deciding whether to sign Ched Evans.

Mr Evans continues to protest his innocence, and an investigation into his conviction by the Criminal Cases Review Commission is under way.

The BBC has obscured the blogger's face and voiced over her comments to protect her anonymity.
