New guidance on issue of consent in rape cases

New guidance is to be given to all police forces and prosecutors over how rape cases are investigated in the hope of bringing more to prosecution.

Police and prosecutors will now have to make sure they ask, in every case, how the suspect knew the complainant was saying yes to sex and was doing so freely and knowingly.
