Rotherham child abuse: PCC sets up advisory panel

Government commissioners have been lined up to intervene at Rotherham Council after a child abuse report branded the authority "not fit for purpose".

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for South Yorkshire Alan Billings said police had learnt a lot from the reports but there remained lots of questions to be asked.

He said an advisory panel, which would include survivors and family members, was being set up to ensure police and social services were doing what they said they were.
