Red squirrel breeding hope for Mersea Island

Mersea Island is the only place in the east of England where red squirrels are living wild.

It is thanks to local people who started a project to reintroduce them.

They have released 20 red squirrels onto the island since the scheme began two and a half years ago, and there is evidence the squirrels are breeding.

Felicity Simper reports.
