'Gay cake row': Catholic Church supports NI 'conscience law'

In Northern Ireland, the Catholic Church has given its support to a proposed law allowing businesses to refuse to provide some services, if their religious convictions might be undermined.

The bill was drafted after a Christian-run bakery faced legal action for refusing to supply a cake with a gay marriage slogan on it.

Opponents of the bill say that the so-called conscience clause would legalise discrimination.
