NHS says sorry to Jimmy Savile's victims

The chairperson of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Hattie Llewelyn-Davies, has apologised to those abused by Jimmy Savile at Stoke Mandevillle hospital in Buckinghamshire.

The Stoke Mandeville report said Savile abused 63 people from 1968-92, ranging in age from eight to 40.

''On behalf of the NHS organisations that existed at that time, and those that exist now, I would like to say sorry to all of Jimmy Savile's victims,'' said Ms Llewelyn-Davies.

''I know how difficult it must have been for you to come forward and tell your stories after such a long time.''
