Former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor: 'My house was searched by police'

The former Conservative MP Harvey Proctor says his house has been searched by police investigating historical allegations of child abuse.

The BBC understands police from Operation Midland arrived at the house on the estate of Belvoir Castle, in Leicestershire, on Wednesday.

The investigation is looking at claims establishment figures abused boys.

Mr Proctor, 68, denied being part of any "rent-boy ring" or attending sex parties with prominent figures.

Speaking to journalists, he said that he had "nothing to add to this Kafkaesque fantasy".
