Virgin Money CEO speaks out against 'alpha-maleness' of banking.

The head of Virgin Money has spoken out against the "alpha maleness" of the banking industry.

Jayne-Anne Gadhia told the Today programme: "Winning at all costs has been a problem for all sorts of businesses in the past, and it's certainly been a problem in banking."

It was important to make sure pockets of success were happening legitimately, she said, recalling being told earlier in her career: "If you show me the most successful salesperson, I can often show you a crook."

She said: "I think being able to look at a more balanced way of assessing performance is very very important."
