Man arrested after baby killed by dog in Sunderland

A three-week old baby has died after being bitten by a dog in Sunderland.

Northumbria Police said a 30-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

Superintendent Gillian Mitchell said that there were concerns about the care of the child at the time the incident occurred.
