Rotherham child abusers 'must be charged', says NSPCC

About 300 possible suspects have been identified in an investigation into child sex abuse in Rotherham, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has said.

Investigators described the extent of abuse in the town as "horrendous".

An estimated 1,400 young children are believed to have been raped, trafficked and groomed in the South Yorkshire town between 1997 and 2013.

Jon Brown, from the NSPCC, said that the figures were "absolutely staggering" and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
