Janner case: Alison Saunders 'accepts' review of decision

The former Labour MP Lord Janner is to be prosecuted over claims of historical child sexual abuse, after a review overturned a decision by the CPS not to bring him to trial.

The Crown Prosecution Service decided not to bring charges because the 86-year-old suffers from a severe form of dementia.

The director of public prosecutions, Alison Saunders, told the BBC's legal correspondent Clive Coleman that while she accepts the review's conclusion to bring charges, it is still possible the former politician will be unfit to stand trial.
