Tony Blair: How I heard about 7/7 London bombings

On the 10th anniversary of the 7/7 London bombings, former Prime Minister Tony Blair has been describing how he first heard about the attacks on the city.

He said it was only as time passed, that it became clear that there were ''multiple casualties''.

Asked if he felt ''culpable'' because of his stance on Iraq and Afghanistan, he told the BBC's Norman Smith ''there will always be reasons and excuses that people use for terrorism''.

''In the end, the responsibility has got to lie with the people who carry this out and with those who encourage them,'' he said.
