Budget 2015: 'Britain has turned a corner'

As the chancellor presented the first Conservative Budget in 20 years, he insisted that Britain had "turned a corner" and that there should be "no turning back".

George Osborne told MPs that he was committed to "a path of budget responsibility" in order to reduce the deficit and achieve a surplus by 2019-20.

He also suggested the introduction of a "fiscal charter" to prevent economic instability in the future.
