London Tube strikes: Night service will happen, says Boris Johnson
A 24-hour service on some parts of London's Tube network will happen, despite industrial action by staff, London Mayor Boris Johnson has confirmed.
Services were halted on Wednesday night after a walkout by Tube staff over pay and conditions, including plans for the night service. Trains will not run again until Friday morning.
Mr Johnson said he did not "give a stuff" when the night service came into effect but insisted that it would.
"Instead of disrupting the lives of Londoners, the union leadership needs to get on and put the offer to their membership", he said.
