Javid warns charter review will be wide-ranging
The BBC's charter review will look at a whole host of issues, including what the corporation broadcasts and its internet capabilities, according to Business Secretary Sajid Javid.
Mr Javid, a former culture secretary, told the Andrew Marr Show that the review "has to be driven by getting feedback from stakeholders".
He was speaking as it was revealed that current Culture Secretary John Whittingdale had chosen eight people to advise the government over a fundamental review of the BBC, as its licence fee comes up for renewal.
Some Sunday newspapers suggest he is considering demanding the BBC website scale back its offering and return to its public service roots; he may also abolish the BBC Trust and call for production facilities to be privatised.
