Lancashire homes warned of water bug

Homes in Lancashire are being asked to boil their drinking water after traces of a parasite were found at a water treatment plant outside Preston.

Cryptosporidium can cause gastrointestinal complaints such as diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

People with weak immune systems are likely to be more seriously affected.
