VJ Day 70th Anniversary: Flypast over Horse Guards Parade

Commemorations have been held in Britain to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory over Japan Day, which marked the end of World War Two.

A memorial event was held at Horse Guards Parade which featured a military flypast and was attended by the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the prime minister.

Veterans, war widows and members of their families then marched from Horse Guards Parade to Westminster Abbey, accompanied by marching bands.
