Kids Company leaders' heated exchanges with MPs

The founder of the collapsed charity Kids Company has defended the way it was run during an appearance before MPs.

Camila Batmanghelidjh denied handing out hundreds of pounds to children in a "willy nilly" fashion, and claimed the charity would still be open were it not for "malicious allegations" of sexual abuse.

In a heated exchange she told MPs that all payments were overseen by three professionals.

The former chair of trustees, Alan Yentob, who is also a BBC executive, said there had been a murder, stabbings and four suicide attempts since the charity closed down.

Lucy Manning reports.
