What is the future for the ever-growing rent generation?

Rising house prices, and the need for large deposits for a mortgage, mean that increasing numbers of people simply can not get on the housing ladder.

In 1991 more than two-thirds of those under 35 owned their own home.

Last year it was just over one-third, with the numbers of renters rising all the time.
