Puffins 'could be extinct within decades'

Puffins are now facing the same threat of extinction as African elephants and lions, according to the world's largest environmental organisation.

The International Council for the Conservation of Nature has also added turtle doves to its "red list" of endangered birds.

The number of UK bird species on the list has doubled to eight.
